Fighting a Silent Epidemic
Drowning is a global crisis, claiming hundreds of thousands of lives each year, most of them children. The Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation was built with one clear, unyielding objective: to combat this by teaching underprivileged kids worldwide how to swim and survive in the water.
When the opportunity arose to back The Crossing, a grueling, human-powered relay race across the open Mediterranean Sea from Viareggio to Monaco, we didn’t see a corporate branding opportunity. We saw an extreme test of human potential aligned with a lifesaving cause.

180km of Open Sea
From June 19th to June 20th, this relentless endurance competition takes over the Mediterranean. Pushing through a 24+ hour open-water race on specialized water bicycles, there are no motors, no sails, and no safety nets: just elite athletes and global icons fighting crashing waves, heavy winds, and deep night-time fatigue across 180 kilometers of open sea.
We aren’t just slapping our logo on a banner and waiting at the finish line. We are standing right there alongside the competitors, backing an extreme test of human grit and athletic potential to ensure this grueling open-sea crossing is conquered for a cause that truly matters.
Where the Capital Goes
Benrey’s financial backing directly provides the critical infrastructure, safety escort vessels, and logistical tracking required to make this high-stakes crossing possible. We fund the operational framework so the athletes can focus entirely on surviving the elements. By putting our funding directly into this open-water challenge, our goal is to help transform an extreme sports spectacle into a massive milestone for global philanthropy.
The real victory won't just be crossing the finish line in Monaco. The capital raised from this activation will directly fund real-world swimming programs for children who need them most, actively preventing future tragedies before they happen.
