When the Monaco Rugby Federation (FMR) set their sights on competing in LIT7s—the legendary UK tournament and flagship finale of the LIT Super Sevens Series—they had the raw grit and tactical discipline to contend with Europe’s elite. What they needed was the backing to get there.
BENREY stepped in to fully fund the participation, travel, and tournament operations for both Monegasque squads:
- The Umusa (Monaco’s Women’s Sevens team)
- The Impis (Monaco’s Men’s Sevens team)
By removing financial barriers, our goal was simple: ensure these athletes could step onto London’s grass at Wasps FC focused entirely on competing at the highest level.

Podium Finish in London
Competing against over 70 international, elite, and military teams—including Saracens, the British Army, and national Olympic programs—both Monegasque sides proved why they belong in Europe’s top tier.
The Umusa: LIT7s Vice-Champions
Monaco’s women’s squad delivered a world-class campaign at Wasps FC:
- Flawless Group Phase: The Umusa stormed through group play undefeated, dominating the Akuma Savvy Panthers (29–0), Wild Dogs (40–10), and Jordan’s Legacy (34–7).
- Semi-Final Thriller: They sealed their place in the final with a gutsy 26–19 victory over the Hammerheads.
- The Grand Final: Facing an Olympic-program Hong Kong squad, the Umusa fought to the final whistle to take 2nd place overall, capping off a phenomenal international season as LIT7s Vice-Champions!
Battle-Tested Semi-Finalists
Facing a stacked Men’s Open Cup bracket:
- The Impis battled through to the final four, highlighting their tournament with a statement quarter-final victory over Seven Rush.
- They concluded their run in a tough semi-final duel against the eventual tournament champions, the British Army.
